About
Born in Frankfurt, Germany but was raised in Denton, Texas, Dr. Wood earned his Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, his medical degree from Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara School of Medicine in Guadalajara, Mexico and completed his Family Medicine Residency at the University of Missouri. Dr. Wood is passionate about global health and has volunteered in Romania, Mexico, and Malawi. He is married and has a toddler. In his spare time, he likes exploring the outdoors, traveling, live music, watching sports, and the company of close family and friends. He chose New Braunfels because it’s a great place to live and raise a family.
“Through my global health experiences I’ve observed the powerful synergy of medicine, education, and patient relationships. In rural Romania, I learned that educating the community about proper hygiene and water purifying techniques provided a sustainable solution instead of simply handing out anti-parasitic agents. My training has taught me that building trust with my patients is vital to help improve their overall health. As a family medicine doctor, I have the privilege to take care of the entire family, which allows me to form lasting relationships in the community and tailor the best treatment plans for each patient’s individual needs. I value open communication through shared decision-making. I want to make sure that my patients are well educated about their condition and understand their treatment plans. I strive to practice the best evidence-based medicine and help patients navigate a complex medical system. I am honored to join a quality medical group such as CHRISTUS Health that prioritizes patient care and is committed to improving the health of our community.”
