About

Dr. Martin Andreansky is a pediatric bone marrow transplant physician with Baylor College of Medicine and the director of the Pediatric Blood and Marrow Transplant Program at CHRISTUS Children’s. He is also physician scientist with experience in molecular biology and infectious diseases. After graduating from medical school, he completed a postdoctoral research fellowship on expression of retroviral proteases in bacterial systems. Next, he trained as a pediatrician and pediatric oncologist, culminating this clinical training with a one-year fellowship in pediatric stem cell transplantation at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

As the Director of Bone Marrow Transplant at the University of Miami, he led the program through the initial Foundation for Cellular Therapy (FACT) accreditation and three successful re-accreditations. Under his leadership, the program evolved as the largest pediatric stem cell transplant program in South Florida. He also focused on improving the standard of practice in pediatric bone marrow transplantation. In addition, he contributed to studies in minimal residual disease in leukemia and was involved in the development of novel immunological target such as chimeric receptors that drive T cell stimulation.

At CHRISTUS Children’s, he is actively involved in principal investigator-initiated clinical trials at CHRISTUS Children’s in conjunction with Baylor College of Medicine. As a member of the Children’s Oncology Group (COG), Dr. Andreansky participates and collaborates on nationally conducted clinical trials for children undergoing transplantation.
